Topshop goodies.. I can’t seem to get over black, exposed zipper, bright satins, short skirts, high waists and acid wash. Not to mention shoes. I will forever love the ultra feminine/masculine looks, I think.

This outfit took some getting used to. Well, the shorts did anyway. It grew on me though and I really like it! It’s always weird to see your body in a different way and for me, high waisted shorts were something different.
Stylebytes.net is back up, as in, you can dig through the archives. I’d love for Agathe to start posting there again! Her blog was really the first one I found that introduced me to this little heaven of street style and fashion blogging. It definitely inspired me to start my own! She was always a great combination of class and rock. Her look always said strength to me (here, in a society where women are supposed to be strong without showing it too much *eye roll*).

And I think I’m finally used to walking in 2 1/2″ heels. OKay, so that’s not very tall but I am tall so hmm… maybe that doesn’t make a difference but whatever. Sucess for me! Now of course I’m diving head first into sites like Nine West and Fornarina, drooling hopelessly…
It has been a long year. My heart has ached and stretched and I’ve often pictured it shrinking and expanding with long, drawn out beats. Your husband isn’t supposed to be so far away, I mean, it’s not what you grow up picturing in your innocent little mind but sometimes it happens. It has happened. And really, it’s okay. It’s okay because it’s worth it. It’s okay because I learn from it, I draw from it; I grow stronger.
I browse pictures and am instantly drawn to those who say keep me company or I’m alone but loved and everything is so beautiful; it hurts because I think that’s life. We want beauty, to be loved and know ourselves as what we really are. And there has to be pain, if there wasn’t, we wouldn’t understand joy/enlightenment/ecstasy.
I’m definitely still craving a lot of black, as Polyvore just further proved to me, but hanging onto colourful accessories. Now that we’re nearing late November, the weather is pretty cold and Fall is starting to blend into Winter in my mind. Sunny California won’t be home for me until January so until then, I’ll be clinging to layers and layers of… yes, black. This is my favourite time of the year for fashion, always has been, as I prefer layering and I’m thinking that living in California will really force me to try new things, fashion-wise since it’ll be hot much more often.

I decided to wear my pashmina scarf like those circle scarfs American Apparel is selling (I want one but really, I should make it myself). I thrifted that sweater at Goodwill last month. I had tried on a similar cardigan at Forever 21 but it was a tighter fit and a very thin knit so I didn’t buy it. This one is warm, has the fit I wanted and was only $8. I rocks.
Tonight, I’m either babysitting or going out for a birthday dinner (uh, not my birthday).
